~M9100 was the original Shimano XTR 12-speed cassette model when it first launched around 2018.

~Later, Shimano updated it slightly for better chain retention and shifting performance, especially for their new Micro Spline freehub system.

~This improved version is called M9101 — it's basically an evolution of the M9100.

In short:

~M9100 = 1st generation 12-speed XTR cassette.

~M9101 = Updated version with minor improvements (especially better tuning for Hyperglide+ shifting).

Physically, they look very similar, but Shimano adjusted some details internally for smoother operation.
